About Mr Jeremy Hayden
I graduated from Leeds University Medical School in 1993, obtained a post-graduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at Leeds in 1999 and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006. I completed my Specialist Training in Leeds, Adelaide, Tokyo and Pittsburgh centres of excellence and was entered on the Specialist Register in June 2006. I am a member of AUGIS, BOMSS, IFSO and ISDE Specialist Surgical Associations.
My clinical expertise includes advanced endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures for obesity (gastric balloon, gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass) and benign diseases such as reflux and hiatus hernia and oesophageal achalasia. I perform major surgery for gastric and oesophageal cancer, and have experience of complex and revision benign oesophageal and gastric problems including the management of the complications of surgery.
I have research interests that include the randomised-controlled clinical trials (By-Band-Sleeve Principal Investigator for Leeds) prognostic and predictive markers outcome of oesophagogastric cancer, quality of surgery, outcome measures in cancer and bariatric surgery and enhanced recovery pathways to improve patient care.
